2024 Orange Santa Program

The Orange Santa 2024 applications are now open. The application deadline is Wednesday, November 20 at 5 p.m. CST. 

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicants must be current, regularly-appointed, benefits-eligible University employees or students.
• UTemps employees and all other temporary employees are not eligible.
• An applicant must also have an ITIN or SSN on file.  If your ITIN or SSN is not on file, you can report it using the Tax ID Self-ReportingTool at https://utdirect.utexas.edu/acct/tax/taxreport/index.WBX.
• One application per household is permitted.
• If both parents/guardians work for UT Austin, only one may apply for Orange Santa.

Applicants may request assistance for their children who meet ALL of the following criteria:

• Minors (17 and under)
• Must reside with the applicant
• Applicant must have legal duties of care and financial responsibility (serve as legal guardian)
• If you are applying for a child outside of your immediate family (niece, nephew, cousin, grandchild) or a sibling, our office will follow up with you and may require legal proof of guardianship (e.g. birth certificates, school records) in order to process your application.
• Relatives and other children who do not fit these criteria are not eligible for assistance.

This year, Orange Santa  will provide assistance in the form of a taxable payment processed through payroll. Applicants will receive one deposit with funds for all eligible children. This will be an off-cycle payment in December outside of the payroll deposit on the first of the month. The date of payment will be provided in an applicant's approval email.  Orange Santa is no longer providing gift cards as a form of assistance.
